Jennifer Rae Grosz

Jennifer Rae Grosz, 43, died at Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson, Mont., on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 5, after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. Pastor Ron Martin-Dent, Rev. Tim Hutslar, and Tammy Iverson will officiate at the service at the Culbertson United Methodist Church. Services will also be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin, N.D., with Pastor Bryan Knudsen officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Elgin.

She was born May 5, 1973, in Bismarck, N.D., to Kevin and Bonnie (Rath) Grosz. At six months old, she traveled to Ansbach, Germany, where she lived with her family for two years. Upon returning to the United States, she lived in Kentucky, Elgin, and started first grade in Dickinson, N.D.

Her family then moved to Bismarck, where she lived and continued school until Nov. 3, 1986, when she had a tragic accident. Her life changed immensely due to being 100 percent disabled. But it did not stop her gleaming eyes and contagious smile. She could speak more with her eyes and facial expression than some can with a thousand words.

God's plan for her was to be a teacher. She taught just by the love in her eyes. So many people were impacted by her presence, that many professions were chosen because of her special needs.

She lived at home for 20 years and then made her home at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow. In 2009, her new apartment was at Roosevelt Medical Center until she became a heavenly angel peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 5, 2016.

Her room was a "go-to" room when anyone of the staff needed a smile or a pick-me-up. She listened, she smiled and her eyes responded with "I love you and it will be okay." Her disability did not keep her tied down. She traveled with family to the Black Hills, Medora, Washington, and to many family and church gatherings. She also loved spending time at the cabin at Fort Peck and the ranch.

Keeping her in their fondest memories are her mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Zane Panasuk of Culbertson; her father, Kevin Grosz; one brother, Dustin Grosz and his wife, Bobbie, all of Vancouver, Wash .; stepsisters, Sheridan Cotrell and her husband, Dan, of Billings, Jericho Panasuk of Hawaii, and Cary Cochran of Bozeman; her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Mildred Rath, and paternal grandmother, Lois Grosz all of Elgin; nieces and nephews, Britny Carrier and her husband, Brock, Tyler Grosz and his wife, Megan, and Brianna and Brooke Grosz; great-niece and nephew, Sydnee and Keenan Carrier; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Randy Grosz.
