TUESDAY – AUG. 9

10 a.m. - The Valley County Conservation District local working group meeting is in the USDA Service Center Boardroom located at 54059 US Hwy. 2 W, Ste. 2, in Glasgow. The group is being asked to assess the conservation needs that will be addressed with federal funding. Call the VCCD with any questions at 406-228-4321, ext. 101, with any questions. Following at 1 p.m. will be the regular monthly meeting of the VCCD Board. The public is always welcome.

WEDNESDAY – AUG. 17

1-4 p.m. - Service officers for the Montana Veterans Affairs will be visiting Glasgow VA Clinic and on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Malta City Hall. Bring a copy of your discharge paperwork DD214 with you. Veteran service officers will visit nursing homes and assisted living centers by appointment only. Call 406-265-4225 if you are interested.

Explore Rock Creek at Hinsdale. The extensive exposures of sandstone provide outstanding scenery as you hike through the canyons. The outing is free and open to the public, but participants must first register. The schedule is now available online at http://www.wildmontana.org/walks. A real prairie wilderness experience at Bitter Creek in this Wilderness Walk. See teepee rings and other historic artifacts. The outing is free and open to the public, but participants must first register. The schedule is now available online at http://www.wildmontana.org/walks. 9 a.m. - The untimed 2.5-mile run/walk starting at the Glasgow Civic Center. Entry forms are available at BS Central, D&G, First Community Bank, all Glasgow Ezzie’s locations, Flip Burgers & Treats, Glasgow Courier, Glasgow Chamber office, Glasgow Rec. Dept., Holiday Stores and the Taco Shack.

1:30 p.m. - The third Sunday of each month is a social at the Nashua Senior Center. Those attending are asked to bring snacks.

2 p.m. - Pinochle every 1st and 3rd Sunday at the Glasgow Senior Center. Everyone welcome.

3 p.m. - Annual Opheim Potluck Picnic in Billings at North Park Shelter #1, 6th Ave. North at 21st Street. Plates, utensils and iced tea will be provided. Bring your favorite dish and drink to share.
