Nashua School Accepts Five New Resignations

Three Teachers Recommended for Hire

Already struggling to fill open positions, the Nashua School received and accepted five new resignations at the June 2 school board meeting, bringing the total of recent resignations to eight.

In addition, the school has been searching for more than a year for both a music teacher and a special education teacher.

Resignations were received from: Amy Capdeville, third grade; Suzanne Flint, English; Jessica Nagy, technology/ activity director; Shelby Qualls, kindergarten; and Tess Fahlgren, art/creative writing. All five indicated they will not be returning to teach in Nashua for the 2016-2017 school year.

In May, the Nashua School Board accepted resignations from Susan Schemmel, math; Elizabeth Hoeksema, sixth grade; and Shersteen Cline, science.

Upon the recommendation of Superintendent Jennifer Cunningham, the board did approve the hire of three new teachers for the upcoming school season: Cindee Parker, of the Belgrade area, for science, Chris Bourn, of the Billings area, for math, and Katie Noser, an area resident that has been teaching in Frazer, for an elementary teaching position.

Prior to adjournment, the board also approved summer custodial hires of Kayla Rorvik, Patti Sibley, Ann MacDonald, Larraine Eiland, Janice Rorvik, Cassidy Greene, Gunner Green, and Nicole Williams.
