Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Theropoda Expeditions, a leading dinosaur exploration, preparation, and mounting company announced today its discovery of Rees Rex, a new and noteworthy specimen of the iconic Tyrannosaurus rex. The new find has a nearly complete skull and joins other notable T. rex specimens, such as “Peck Rex” and the Smithsonian’s “Wankel Rex”, all of which were discovered in Montana’s Hell Creek. Rees Rex was uncovered in the summer of 2015, on a private ranch in McCone County, Mont. after a few scattered tail bone fragments were discovered weathering out of a hillside exposure. The skull was disarticulated before preservation which resulted in a virtually undistorted specimen that resembles only the most complete and famous Tyrannosaurus rex skulls featured at top museums.
