VFW Hosting Memorial Day Program

VFW Post 3107 will host the Memorial Day program at the Civic Center May 30, at 10:30 a.m. Glasgow Scottie Band will perform as well as the EQ Singers. Guest speaker will be Jim Buer, a farmer/rancher from Scobey. He was assigned to the 3rd U.S. Infantry, known as the “Old Guard,” in Washington, D.C. in 1958. They are the official ceremonial unit and escort for the President. While assigned there he served as a guard at the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.” He will present a program about his duties as a guard. A potluck lunch will be held at the VFW after the ceremony.
