Jake Schweigert, Jr., 75, of Glasgow, Mont., died Monday, April 25, 2016, at Faith Nursing Home in Wolf Point, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, with Pastor Jay Ashbaucher officiating, followed by burial at the Highland Cemetery.
He was born May 30, 1940, in Harlan, Ky., to Jake and Virgie (Tipton) Schweigert. He was a long-time resident of Glasgow. He worked for Markle's and Oakland's TV and Appliance. He owned Schweigert's Appliance repair and J & C Auto in Glasgow.
He had many interests. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was a good marksman and liked to do taxidermy. He was a self-taught saddle and tack maker and enjoyed painting and art.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Schweigert, Sr.; Diane (Susag) Schweigert; and one niece, Susan Kay Carter.
He is survived by his mother, Virgie Schweigert of Wolf Point; a sister, Reney Carter and her husband, Bob, of Glasgow; four children, Darrell Schweigert of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mitchell Schweigert and his wife, Julie, of Miles City, Lori Hinton and her husband, Perry, of New Carlisle, Ind., and Les Schweigert; one daughter-in-law, Jenny Schweigert; three grandkids, Samatha, Taylor and Tyler of Fargo, N.D.; three nephews, Steve Carter and his family of San Diego, Calif., Gary Carter and Shawn Carter and his son, Conner James Carter, both of Billings.
Honorary Pallbearers are Samatha, Taylor and Tyler Schweigert.
