THURSDAY – MAY 5

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. - The Valley County Pioneer Museum began their spring schedule on May 3. The new hours will be Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

5:30-7:30 p.m. - A kick-off event for the 2016 Wilderness Walks at the Sean R. Heavy Gallery, 529, 2nd Ave. S in Glsgow. Starting at 6:30, the event will include a slide presentation featuring hikes in the Glasgow area and along the Hi-Line. The complete schedule is available online at http://www.wildmontana.org/walks. American Legion & Auxiliary #41 Poppy Days will be held Thursday, May 5, from 3-6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Shopko, headquarters for Poppy Days. Please call 228-4923 to get your day and time to help sell.

6-8 p.m. - A Silent Auction at the Art Square with Music by Dick Markle and Bob Strand. Also included will be margaritas, brew from the Busted Knuckle, food, a Quick Draw event with Leith DeWeese and Tess Fahlgren and door prizes. Cost of admission is a freewill donation. More info at 230-0148.

WEDNESDAY – MAY 18

1-4 p.m. - Service officers for the MT Veterans Affairs will meet with veterans who are interested in applying for benefits. Bring a copy of your discharge paperwork (DD214) with you. Service officers will also be in Malta on Thursday, May 19, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the Malta City Hall. Veteran service officers will visit nursing homes and assisted living centers by appointment only. Call 406-265-4225 if you are interested.
