Fast and Nielsen Claim Championships
The Glasgow Wrestling Club took over half of their stacked roster to Great Falls this past weekend for the AAU State Wrestling Tournament. That translates into the fifth largest team at the event for the second year in a row.
With 66 teams in attendance, it would seem quite a task for a class B team to make their mark. It would not be a problem for the Highlanders, however, as they placed ninth ... behind only seven class AA teams and Havre.
Setting a new club record, 40 percent of the Highlanders who participated earned placement at the tourney, with 18 wrestlers medaling.
Bringing home top honors in their divisions were Grady Nielsen, midget, and Colten Fast, schoolboy.
In addition, Glasgow seventh-grader Dylan Nieskens qualified for Team Montana and will be representing Montana at the Middle School National Duals in Iowa later this month.
