The Cottonwood Inn hosted the Skip Erickson Memorial Safari Fundraiser Night on March 5. The benefit dinner, complete with Safari guides in khaki, was well-attended and included a live auction, hosted by Myron Malnaa, with items from Skip Erickson's expansive donated collection of taxidermied animals. A silent auction also took place. While the grizzly bear went for over $700 in the live auction, attendees were encouraged to "buy" the pieces in the silent auction for small sums of money and credit the donation to a friend or child. The animals will stay in the museum, but their "owners" will receive a certificate verifying the symbolic purchase, funds from which will go toward The Children's Museum of Northeast Montana.
