The Glasgow Ice Dawg Bantams (13-14 year olds) finished their regular season with victories against Great Falls and Havre.
On Feb. 20 and 21, Glasgow hosted Great Falls for two games at the Valley Event Center. In the first game, the Ice Dawgs mounted a big offensive strike and defeated Great Falls 11-1. Scoring for the Ice Dawgs were Bridger Barnett 1, Britt Fairclough 3, Michael Uphues 2, and Ike Braaten 5. Eight Ice Dawg skaters recorded assists during the game including two assists for Barnett and Braaten, and single assists for Koby Regalado, Trevor Johnson, Uphues, Bailey Hansen, Noah Lipszyc, and Fairclough. The Dawgs' goaltender Colton Pewitt had 12 saves on 13 shots.
In game two against the Americans, Glasgow maintained the offensive pressure and skated to a 6-2 victory. Finding the back of the net were Aden Perkins and Braaten with two goals each, and Uphues and Barnett with a goal apiece. Braaten recorded two assists during the game. Pewitt turned back 13 of 15 shots from Great Falls.
This past weekend, the Ice Dawgs traveled to Havre for the final close-out series of regular season play. In game one, Glasgow fired 43 shots on the Ice Hawk goaltender, earning the 5-1 victory. Ice Dawgs offensively shared the scoring responsiblities with five individuals each hitting one in between the pipes: Uphues, Perkins, Fairclough, Barnett, and Regalado. Assists were credited to Fairclough, who had two in the game, Perkins, Hansen, and Barnett. Pewitt faced 16 shots during the game and had 15 saves.
In the second game, Havre was looking to avenge the first loss and held the Ice Dawgs to a closer margin. Glasgow was able to maintain their winning ways and prevailed over the Ice Hawks 3-0. Barnett recorded the first two goals of the game for Glasgow with Kristian Price tallying the third and final goal. Assists were recorded by Brayden Hansen, Fairclough, Bailey Hansen, and Uphues. Pewitt turned back all 30 shots he faced to close out the season with a shutout.
The Bantam Ice Dawgs concluded the regular season with a record of 10 wins, 5 losses, and 1 tie. The team looks to extend their 4-game winning streak at the Montana State Bantam A Tourney, being held March 4-6 in Missoula.
