Ankle Breakers

These two pictures show the great ball handling of North Country senior Tatum Moore during the Friday night game in Scobey. In the left photo, Moore is shown giving her opponent a head fake to the left. In the photo below, she is shown as she takes the ball to the right, around the defender and to the bucket for an easy deuce.

Moore ended the night with 18 points which included 11 of 14 from the charity stripe as the Lady Mavericks kept their perfect conference record intact with a win over the Lady Spartans 50-42.

North Country’s 6-foot sophomore Mickayla Johnson showed her true grit in the first quarter when she missed a bunny, snagged the rebound, missed again, fought for the rebound and finally put the ball back up and through the hoop. She tallied 15 points for the Lady Mavs. Kayleigh Cummings scored 7, Jada Sudbrack 6, and Casity Boucher 4.

Scobey’s freshman ShaAnn Danelson kept the Lady Spartans in the game with her four three-pointers.
