Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
According to a recent press release, Representative Mike Lang has announced his intent to run for the Montana Senate District 17 seat, which has most recently been held by John Brenden from N.E. Montana.
Lang notes that Senate District 17 spans the north central and eastern tier of Montana and doubles the geographical and constituent responsibilities previously included in House Districts 35 and 33.
District 17 includes communities in Hill, Blaine, Phillips, Daniels, Roosevelt and Sheridan counties.
Lang has served on the House Business and Labor, Federal Regulations, Energy and Telecommunications (serving as chairman in 2015) and Agriculture committees. His interim committee work has included Energy and Telecommunications, and presently he serves on interim Economic Affairs, the Railroad Service Commission and the Montana Sage Grouse Oversight Team.
Lang is a native Montanan, growing up in Phillips County with career experiences in Wolf Point and Miles City. He has resided in Malta and Phillips County since 1981.
"I'm ready for the challenge and committed to making sure the hard-working people in north central and eastern Montana have a voice in government and in our future," Lang said. "I am committed to limiting government in scope and to making our communities strong and healthy."
Lang is endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Montana Shooting Sports Assoc. and the Montana Family Foundation.
