Farm Equipment Sales and John Deere are pleased to announce they are working with the National FFA Foundation to award college scholarships to local members. Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded this year.
This is the third year of the John Deere Scholarship program. Last year, John Deere awarded more than $290,000 in scholarships. This year, it is anticipated that more than $2.2 million will go to students across the nation.
The scholarship requirements are simple. You must: Be a high school senior or currently enrolled in college; Be less than 23 years of age at time of application (Feb. 1); Be current FFA members unless otherwise stated; Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; Must have Social Security Number to claim scholarships; Plan to attend post-secondary school in the U.S .; Be a full-time student; and be currently enrolled and actively attending classes (Minimum 12 credit hours if enrolled in a post-secondary institution).
The deadline for the 2016 National FFA Scholarship Program is Feb. 1, 2016. Applications are available online through Feb. 1, 2016 at http://www.FFA.org/Scholarships. Students may receive one scholarship as a high school senior and one while in college for a maximum of two scholarship during their academic career. Students who have already received two scholarships through this program are not eligible to apply.
