Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
6 Place in the Top 5
After a dual meet in Glendive and a primer mixer in Chester, the Scottie wrestlers continued on to Cutbank for the annual invitational held there. Out of 32 teams, Glasgow placed fourth.
Strong performers Cody King (145) and Matt Reyling (113) both claimed the top spot on the podium in their weight classes by pinning their opponents in the final round. Also placing individually were Gabe Hallock (103), 3rd with a pin in the consolation round; Kasey Seyfert (126) 4th; Mick Reyling (138), 4th; and Alex Hallock (152), 5th.
Coach Jory Casterline expressed satisfaction with the wrestlers and their recent performances. "We gained a lot of confidenc in Glendive earlier this week, and we only lost four matches in Chester," he said. "I'm really proud of the boys and how hard they worked."
The Cutbank Invitational has been around for 48 years, so it's well-established and draws good competition.
The upcoming Cowboy Invitational in Miles City is running in its 58th year and will draw even more tough competitors, which is exactly why Coach Casterline is looking forward to it.
