Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Bob Combs was a very dedicated Montana Lottery player for more than 20 years, playing the same games with the same numbers right up until he passed away last January. Due to this dedication to playing his special numbers, his wife Donna continued to play them since his passing.
Her commitment to her husband’s passion paid off last week when she won a $200,000 Montana Cash prize on the Dec. 16 drawing. She purchased her ticket at Reynold’s Market in Glasgow.
Donna always made sure she got his tickets and usually checked them when purchasing for the following week’s drawings. While shopping in the store Saturday afternoon, she was asked if she had the winning ticket, and she joked back that of course she did. After going home and checking out the numbers on the Lottery website and seeing they matched her ticket, she asked her friend if she would text her the numbers just to make sure.
She retired one and a half years ago so she would be able to spend more time at home with Bob and to help him with things he wanted done. Upon hearing about the winning, her son, who lives in Nashville, said that it was “Dad’s Christmas gift” to her. Her prize winnings will help her in retirement and to do some traveling. She and her daughter have plans to go to Nashville to visit her son and also her granddaughter and family, who live there, too.
