Robert Elwood Esaias, age 70, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at his home in St. Marie, Mont.
Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Glasgow. Inurnment will take place in Choteau.
He was born June 25, 1945, in Troy, Penn., to Hall and Mary Esaias. He graduated from Troy High School in June 1963 and joined the U.S. Air Force in November of 1963. This was his first time away from the dairy farm and led to a long career, which took him to 15 different bases before retiring on Jan. 1, 1985, from Malmstrom Air Force Base, in Great Falls.
He married Melody "Mickey" Lundberg in 1966 and was a very proud father of three children, Sean, Robert and Kasey.
He moved to Minot, N.D., and worked as the cable TV chief tech until 1989. He then moved back to Canton, Penn., and bought his grandfather's farm. He remained in Pennsylvania until July of 2010, then returned to Montana, which was one of his most loved locations.
He was involved in the Boy Scouts as a Weeblo leader and he enjoyed coaching T-Ball. He loved hunting and fishing, but spent every minute possible with his family first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hall and Mary Esaias; a brother, William Esaias; and a sister, Nancy Hardaway.
Survivors include three children: Sean Esaias and his wife, Tamie, Robert Esaias and his wife, Jamie, and Kasey Esaias; seven grandchildren: (Sean) Ashley, Jason, and Erica, all in Pennsylvania, (Robert) Ashley Waters (Baxter) in Saco, Kaitlynn, Dylan and Seth, all at Saint Marie; four great-grandsons: Tucker and Owen Waters of Saco and Connor Esaias of Saint Marie and Malachi Esaias of Troy, Penn.; and two more coming in the new year; one brother, Dale Esaias of Pennsylvania; and one sister, Claudia Kreider of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
