Have You Seen ‘Tarzan?’

My children and I just spent a week in Glasgow to attend a family wedding and visit old friends. We enjoyed wonderful times on the lake and many memorable evening barbecues, some of the things that make Northeast Montana the best.

Among the highlights of our stay was the Sunday performance of “Tarzan” at the Fort Peck Theatre. That is a magnificent show! I remember the Fort Peck Theatre of old, and as a long time sponsor, I have watched with interest the quality of the performances grow. The voices, the clear depth of the sound system, the magical lighting, and the set had me transcend into the emotions I recently experienced while seeing the Broadway production of “Lion King” in San Diego. My 12-year-old daughter said, “Tarzan was awesome!” which is in line with what she has come to expect at Fort Peck, having seen performances for the last several years.

Congratulations to the Fort Peck Fine Arts Council for the vision and commitment to bring big-city stage performances to the plains of Northeastern Montana. The cast that has been gathered from around the country (and Canada), including several locals and many Montanans, is something special. If you have not seen “Tarzan,” I highly recommend it. “Tarzan” made me proud to support the Theatre in Fort Peck and makes me even more proud to hail from the area.
