Four Swimmers Represent Thunder
Despite having one of the largest number of registered swimmers in their division, the Glasgow Kiwanis Thunder had the least number of swimmers participate in the Lewistown meet held this past weekend.
Senior swimmer Tony Kaiser was the only male swimmer from Glasgow to attend. Also attending from Glasgow were senior swimmer Jordan Kulczyk, intermediate swimmer Katie Kaiser, and junior swimmer Raelee Dowden.
Although they had a low number of swimmers, the Thunder achieved some fairly respectable results. All four swimmers finished in the top six of each of their races and earned 128 points for the team.
The younger Kaiser continued her impressive win streak with another high point weekend by claiming first place in each of her races for her age group. She finished the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 34.05, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:12.43, and the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.01. In addition to a third place finish in the 400-yard freestyle (5:18.95), the senior Kaiser claimed fourth place both in the 50-yard butterfly (35.15) and the100-yard freestyle (1:05.66).
Kulczyk finished fourth in the 400-yard freestyle (5:25.04), third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:17.66), and second in the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.83).
The youngest Thunder competitor, Dowden achieved sixth place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 3:28.18, and third in both the 50-yard breaststroke (47.95) and the 50-yard backstroke (45.08).
Only two more swim meets are scheduled before the GKT head to the divisional and state meets. They will be competing in Scobey this weekend for the first meet in the new pool there.
