Harold Dean Eide, 89, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in Billings, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at Bell Mortuary with a reception to follow at 12 noon at the Cottonwood Inn. For those who would like to attend, a graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery.
He was born June 29, 1925, to Chester H. Sr. and Erminia J. Eide. He lived near Dagmar, then Square Deal, before moving to Glasgow. He graduated from Glasgow High School in 1943 and started farming immediately after graduation. Not long after establishing his farm, he also branched into ranching.
He and Mary Lou Molvig, whom he met in high school, were married on Aug. 29, 1948, in the Lutheran Church in Wolf Point.
He not only loved farming and ranching, but every animal out there. He was notorious for bringing home strays of any kind. Even sage hens had a special place in his heart. He also had a love for aviation. He liked to hire pilots to fly him out to check his cows.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester H. Jr., Clifford C., and Harry E .; and one nephew, Chester H. III "Skip."
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Lou; three nieces, Rebecca Rens, Susan Douglass and Debra Ray; and two nephews, Clifford Jr. "Clay," and Michael.
Bell Funeral Home of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
