Track Takes District By Storm

They showed up, they gave it their all and they walked away with respect and titles. Glasgow boys and girls dominated at the district track meet held in Wolf Point on Saturday, with both teams bringing home the title of district champs.

Forty-three new personal records were accomplished, and the list of state qualifiers grew by three – girls 1600-meter relay, Chase Fossum in the 400-meter, and Luke Breigenzer in the 110-meter hurdles.

The boys claimed the top spot - beating Wolf Point by 122 points. Fossum had an outstanding performance, claiming first place in all five of his events.

The girls finished with a 42 point spread over Malta. Sophomore Morgan Guttenberg also had a good day – achieving personal records in four of her events and moving on to divisionals in the 400-meter dash and the long jump.

The Scotties will benefit from the home field advantage this weekend as divisionals will be held at Scottie Field. Competition starts at 9:30 a.m. with field events and boys and girls 3200-meter run.
