Clifford Eugene 'Cliff' Stannebein

Clifford Eugene "Cliff" Stannebein, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 2800 4th Avenue North, in Billings, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. All who knew him are welcome to attend.

He was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Scobey, Mont., to Hans and Lorene Stannebein. He grew up in Richland and attended school in Richland and Opheim, graduating in 1962. He then attended Michigan State University and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He married Sharon Stein in 1962. They had two sons, Craig and Brett. After working as an engineer in the midwest and spending several years farming in the Opheim area, he moved to Billings, where he designed industrial equipment for Holland Loader Company. In 1993, he took over the management of the family business, Stan-Fuhr Inc.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brett.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Jacque; two sons, Craig Stannebein and his wife, Nicki, and Tyson Stannebein and his wife, Judy; step children, Trent Fuhrman and his wife, Vita, and Jade Fuhrman McPhail and her husband, Matt; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Fuhrman, Austin Stannebein and his wife, Paige, Matthew Fuhrman, Alec Stannebein, Traver, Torin and Tessa Stannebein, and one great-grandchild, Parker Stannebein; one sister, Diane Leone and her husband, Marty; a sister-in-law, Beverly Hasty and her husband, Jack; a brother-in-law, Hyram Peters and his wife, Celia; and many nieces and nephews.
