Arnold E. Wingenbach

Arnold E. Wingenbach, 61, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Riverstone Hospice in Billings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at El Cor Del Lanes Sunday, April 12, at 2 p.m. for all his friends and family.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1953, to Edwin and Cordella (Gustin) Wingenbach in Bismarck, N.D. He was raised and educated in Mandan, N.D., graduating from Mandan High School.

He married the love of his life, Karen Hoffman, on Aug. 25, 1978, in Bismarck. They were married for 36 years and made great memories that will be cherished. They raised four strong, beautiful daughters while living in Glasgow. This ultimately led to him having four fantastic sons-in-law and 10 wonderful grandchildren.

He worked with the BNSF railroad for 35 years as an engineer. He will be remembered every time we hear that whistle blow.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was really proud of his family and would share stories of how great they are. One thing he liked to say while raising his daughters was, "If you don't know what a word means, look it up!" He had a great sense of humor and would tell his friends and family, "I'm the fun one and don't hate me because I'm pretty!"

He had a passion to live life to its fullest. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved to camp at Fort Peck Lake. He also liked to sing and dance to any good song. He enjoyed taking his lovely wife, Karen, for a ride on their Harley. While on the Harley he would speed and slide in, put the kickstand down and say, "whooooo wheeee, what a ride."

One thing he wanted to let everyone know, was that he loved to have a good time with all of you that knew him. This includes friends and family while growing up, and his neighbors that are thought of as his family. You have all made his short life of 61 years a special one.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Wingenbach; a nephew, Andrew Bullinger; and his father-in-law, Roy Hoffman.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Karen, of Glasgow; four daughters, Stephanie Zaidi and her husband, Syed, of Bismarck, N.D .; Jennifer Staack and her husband, Gabe, of Syracuse, Neb., Lisa Sides and her husband, Jason, of Billings, and Leann Kruckenberg and her husband, James, of Sultan, Wash .; 10 grandchildren, Ethan, Kaleb, Kendal, Noah, Calli, Sophia, Kameron, Tyrus, Saif and Kate; his mother, Cordella Wingenbach of Beulah, N.D .; six sisters, Jane Schultz and her husband, Frank, of Minot, N.D., Yvonne Wingenbach of Bismarck, Diane Gehant and her husband, Bruce, of Minnetonka, Minn., Joyce Hoffman of Coon Rapids, Minn., Donna Bullinger and her husband, Wendelin, of Mandan, N.D., and Lori Flemmer and her husband, Duane, of Beulah, N.D .; his mother- in- law, Irene Hoffman, of Bismarck; five sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bahmiller and her husband, Bob, of Bismarck, Linda Baumgartner of Gwinner, N.D., Marilyn Seig and her husband, Butch, of Granite Falls, Wash., Cindy Hoffman of Sidney, and Michelle Schaffer and her husband, Tony, of Bismarck; five brothers-in-law, Larry Hoffman and his wife, Becky, of Sumner, Wash., Mel Baumgartner of Forman, N.D., Roger Hoffman and his wife, Laurie, of Dickinson, N.D., Jeff Hoffman of Cloquet, Minn., and Mel Hoffman of Sidney.
