School boards in Valley County are preparing for school elections in early May this year. While all districts have at least one trustee position open, there haven’t been many signing up to serve on their local board. If you're looking for a way to participate in your local school district you'll need to sign up by Thursday, March 26.
Frazer
Frazer School District will hold the election May 5. Polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. You can cast your ballots at the adult education building.
The district has one trustee position open for a three year term. They have one issue on the ballot; they will vote for an elementary school mill levy that would raise $12,0902.41. Deadline to apply for the trustee position is by 5 p.m. March 26.
Glasgow
The Glasgow School District will hold its election on Tuesday, May 5. Polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. at the district boardroom.
Two trustee positions are open for a three-year term each. Alison Molvig and Nick Dirkes positions are up. Molvig has reapplied for her position, but other applications must be in by 5 p.m. March 26.
The school district will also have two issues on the ballot. One is a general fund levy to operate and maintain the schools for the 2015-16 year that would generate an additional $18,271.65. The decision on the new K-5 school name will also be on the ballot: either Glasgow Elementary School or Irle Elementary School.
Hinsdale
The Hinsdale School District will hold its election on Tuesday, May 5 from noon to 8 p.m.
They also have one three year trustee position open that no one has applied for yet. They will also have one issue on the ballot, a levy for the general fund for the high school and for the elementary.
Lustre
Lustre School District will hold their vote on May 5 from noon to 8 p.m. You can cast your ballot at the elementary school cafeteria.
The district has one trustee position open for a three-year term. The application is due by March 26. No other issues were listed on the ballot.
Nashua
Nashua will have elections on the same day, Tuesday, May 5. They have two, three-year terms open for trustees. The deadline to apply for the position is March 26 by 4 p.m.
Opheim
The Opheim School District will also have its elections on May 5. The district has no issues on the ballot, but does have two, three-year trustee positions open.
