Marlene Rose (Blanchard) Sensiba, 77, passed away at her home in Glasgow on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015.
Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Glasgow. A luncheon will follow at the St. Raphael Parish Center.
She was born and raised in Glasgow where she grew up on the family dairy farm. The Riverview Dairy Farm was owned by her parents, Willis and Rose Blanchard. The Blanchards provided milk to Valley County.
She was the oldest daughter of the four children. In 1951 she completed the 8th grade and graduated from St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Later she graduated from Glasgow High School, and in 1955 she earned her certificate in speed writing from Parks School of Business in Denver, Colo. She returned to Glasgow and married Bill Sensiba on Aug. 1, 1960, by the Justice of the Peace in Miles City.
She worked at Sam's Supper Club for 30-plus years. She was known for her waitressing skills and often the patrons requested her to be their waitress.
She was also known for her huge garden. She enjoyed sharing her vegetables with her friends and family. She loved to cook and have family gatherings at the farm. Her other hobbies included dancing, playing cards, embroidering, fishing, canning and crossword puzzles.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She spent most of her time with her companion, Donald Kinzell, traveling back and forth between Glasgow and Grandville, N.D., taking care of their gardens and fishing together.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Rose Blanchard; one sister, Sandra Mercil; one brother, Myron Blanchard; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include one sister, Savola Blanchard of Billings; four children: Ross Sensiba and his wife, Val, of Devils Lake, N.D., David Sensiba and his wife, Laura, of Aurora, Colo., Gary Sensiba of Denver, Colo., and Mary Humbert and her husband, Dan, of Glasgow; four grandchildren, Kyle C. Humbert, Heather Dulaney and her husband, Nick, and Bryant and Shane Sensiba; two great-grandchildren, Kimber and Trevor Dulaney; as well as cousins, and local nieces Dorena Blanchard and Georgie Kulczyk.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
