Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Scott Terence Kirkland, 40, was taken from his friends and family very tragically on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 7-10 p.m., with words of remembrance at 8 p.m., at Lake Wilderness Lodge in Maple Valley, Wash.
A memorial service for Northeast Montana will be held in Glasgow at a later date in July.
He was born on April 24, 1974, in Great Falls, Mont., to Terry Kirkland and Sharon Kummerfeldt.
He worked as a painter for RC Painting since 1999 and was an incredible asset to all of those he worked with.
He had many circles of family including his relatives, friends, music friends and work associates. He had many passions in his life including fishing, crabbing, hunting, playing music, playing cribbage, cards and being with his friends and family. He never took life for granted and could always find the beauty in what surrounded him. He left his special mark on all he met for he always had a good word to say, an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, and a giant hand eager to help in any way.
He was a brother to Tara Olson and Makenna Kirkland, to whom he was incredibly close. His partner, Shana, was his true love and is part of our family.
He had a unique zest for life and was generous to a fault to all who met him. The family agrees his biggest legacy is the vast amount of people from all walks of life that he touched with his special personality. We all will miss him more than any words can possibly say.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
