Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Hazel (Dohi) Shiroishi, 96, of Lander Wyo., passed away Aug. 31, surrounded by her family. As per her request, no services will be held.
Hazel and her late husband, William T. Shiroishi, long-time residents of Phillips County, owned and operated a farm/ranch near Malta for over 60 years. Besides helping with the farm/ranch, she raised three children, and a huge garden and many chickens.
She was an excellent cook and baker. Her friends and neighbors came to enjoy her raised donuts, shrimp tempura dinners, the amazing feast on branding day and she made sure the coffee was always on. Among her interests were flowers, knitting, crocheting, quilting, playing cards and she was an avid reader. She loved being with her family, had a great outlook on life, a big heart, kinds words to all and always had a smile on her face.
Survivors include a son, Bill Jr.; two daughters, Peggy and Betty; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one sister, Jean Miyasato of Glasgow.
