A wake will be recited Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Wolf Point Community Hall. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at the United Dakota Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the Chelsea Cemetery west of Poplar. Please join the family for a luncheon to be held after the burial services at the Wolf Point Community Hall.
She was born Feb. 13, 1946, in Poplar, Mont., to Ruth Hawk Brock.
She married an Air Force man, Victor Romero, in 1963. They lived in Tachakawa, Japan, for three years, and in that time were blessed with two children, Laura Romero and Victor "Jake" Romero, to accompany the oldest daughter, Ruth Williams. They moved back to the United States in 1967 where they moved around to various states. The union sadly ended.
She then married Gerald Jackson in 1971, who was also in the U.S. military (Army). They also traveled and had two children, Joshua Jackson and Leigh Ann Jackson. They parted ways.
She then met and married her third husband, Bootsie Wetsit, in 1982, and was with him until he passed away. This union bore no children, but Bootsie was a wonderful grandfather to the several grandchildren that came along.
She worked various jobs throughout her life. She was a nurse's aide at the Faith Lutheran Home. She also worked at the Wolf Point Head Start for about 13 years. She loved and cherished every moment working with the children. She always had funny stories about how fun the kids were. She retired in 2009 due to medical problems.
She enjoyed fishing and attending pow-wows. She loved watching her Seattle Seahawks and playing her machines at the Silverwolf Casino.
She loved her family very much and was very proud of all of them. She always told them to be strong and proud and to stay close. She loved life and fought hard to live it right until the end.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Brock; one daughter, Laura Romero; and three brothers, William Williams, Kermit Brock and Kevin Brock.
Survivors include four of her five children; Ruth Williams, Victor Romero Jr., Joshua Jackson and his wife, Kim, and Leigh Ann Jackson and her husband, Rusty, all of Wolf Point; six of her nine brothers and sisters, Ronald Williams of Wolf Point, Ernie Christianson of Dillon, Emby Christianson of Dillon, Mary Williams, Eugene Brock, and Sharon Brock, all of Wolf Point; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
