The Glasgow Reds kicked off what is a grueling stretch of baseball with two outstanding wins at home against Miles City. The Reds took the first game of the doubleheader with a 11-0 victory. Glasgow kept the offensive display going in the second game with a 13-0 win.

In the first game, Glasgow got off to an early start in the first inning. Leadoff hitter Keil Kruwiede drew a walk to open the game and shortly after stole second base. Gage Legare drove Krumwiede in with a sacrifice fly and the Reds led 1-0 after the first inning without getting a hit in that inning.

The hits didn't evade Glasgow much longer as the Reds opened up the game in the second inning and once again it was Krumwiede in the middle of the offense.

Coming up with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, Krumwiede took a first-pitch fastball over the left-center field fence to put Glasgow up 5-0.

The Reds scored six more runs over the next two innings while Glasgow pitcher Jonathan Koessl kept the Miles City bats quiet en route to a 11-0 victory in five innings.

"Our approach all the time is to see as many pitches as we can the first time through the order," said Reds Head Coach Jack Sprague "They had us a couple of times at two strikes and then hit our batters so we were let off the hook."

As much as Sprague was pleased with the Reds offense, he was just as pleased with Koessl's game on the mound.

"That was probably one of his better starts right there," said Sprague. "He doesn't overpower guys, but he has a good fastball and when he throws his curveball and change-up, his fastball is even better."

In the second game, it appeared as if the Reds were trying to outdo themselves from game one and they did exactly that.

Koessl's game one masterpiece was outdone by fellow Reds pitcher Jason Thibault. Thibault pitched a no-hitter in Glasgow's game two 13-0 win over Miles City. Thibault had Miles City batters looking confused from the start and was even one walk away from not allowing a single base runner in the game that was once again shortened by the ten-run rule.

The Reds are currently in the midst of a stretch in which they won't have a day off until June 24. In that span, Glasgow will play 17 games in that stretch.

"It's going to be a tough stretch," Sprague said. "A majority of our kids are pitchers and we've used eight different starters this year and will need them all this week. We're going to go out there and win as many games as we can and put us in a position to where we can come home and be in a good spot for [winning the conference].

The Reds continued their dominance on Sunday as they traveled to Miles City and took two more games by the scores of 11-1 and 12-2. Glasgow split a four-game series with Billings, losing two on Monday 5-0 and 10-4 before bouncing back and winning games three and four on Tuesday 8-3 and 9-4.

The Reds (19-3) travel to Laurel today for a two-game set and return home to Glasgow next Monday against Billings.
