LuVern V. Kroll, 80, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his home in Boulder, Mont.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in St. Catherine's Parish Hall in Boulder.
He was born in Little Falls, Minn., Oct. 4, 1934, to Frank and Anastacia (Czech) Kroll on the family farm in Swan River Township, Morrisson County. He moved to Boulder in 1953. In 1955 he married Winona Boe, who was from this area.
He loved classic cars, riding his four-wheeler, working on construction and remodeling projects at his home. He also enjoyed being on the road in his motor home and stopping in to see friends and family, hanging at the "fort" and always had a cold one in his fridge for all who stopped by.
A massive stroke in May of 2010 took his left side.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cletis; a sister, Patricia Happki; and a son, James.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Winona; four sons, Mike Kroll and his wife, Kristie, of Boulder, John Kroll and his wife, Raylene, of Nevada, Joseph Kroll of Butte, and Da Kroll and his wife, Janna, of Helena; a daughter, Verna Kroll, of Helena; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Kroll, of Alaska; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Al Kroll of Malta and Bobby Kroll and his wife, Kay, of St. Augusta, Minn.; a sister, Pricilla Maronick and her husband, Joe, of Helena; and seven half brothers and half sisters in Minnesota.
