Taekwondo Wins Medals
On April 26th, three members from Glasgow Taekwondo attended the Karlo Fujiwara Memorial Taekwondo & Judo Tournament. The competitors, who were from Montana, North Dakota and Wyoming, competed in Poomse, Continuous Sparring, Board Breaking and Judo.
Tommi Prewett, Sam Knierm and Isabell Hood competed in both the Poomse and sparring competitions. Tommi took home a gold in both her poomse and sparring divisions. Sam received a 2nd place medal in both his poomse and sparring division.
This was Isabell’s first competition and she earned second place in her sparring division and fourth in poomse.
Cal Ripken Fundraiser
Cal Ripken Little League players will be holding their annual Pop Drive tonight from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Members of the league will divide the city of Glasgow equally and go door-to-door to sell you your favorite brand of RC products such as: Orange Crush, RC Cola, Mug Root Beer and more. Each case of soda will be sold for $6 a pop... no pun intended... kind of and there will be 12 cans in a case. Make sure to set some money aside and help out the Cal Ripken Little League players.
Volleyball Camp
Glasgow volleyball head coach Lori Dailey will be holding two camps in June for anyone interested in honing their skills on the court.
The first camp, the all skills camp, will be for students entering grades 4-12 and will be held June 2-4 from 9 a.m.-noon each day.
The second camp for kids from kindergarten to third grade will be held on Thursday, June 5 from 9 a.m.-noon. For more information on how to pick up a registration form or cost of the camp, please contact Lori Dailey at 228-2184.
Glasgow Golf
The Glasgow golf team had a tournament at Plentywood last Thursday and not only had to battle the course, but the weather conditions as well.
Glasgow's top two boys, Luke Gunderson and Braden Barstad finished with a 98 and 94 respectively. Those scores earned Gunderson a ninth place finish and Barstad a seventh place finish. Filling out the rest of the scores for the boys, Wyatt Holtzworth shot a 104, Mikal Mavencamp shot a 108 and Braden Meland finished the day with a 131.
The only female golfer competing at the event, in which was her second ever, was Amy Nelson who shot a 149.
The Scotties will compete in the Scobey Invite today before traveling to the Shelby Invitational on Friday.
Glasgow Softball
If the weather cooperates this week, Glasgow residents will be able to watch their first home games of the year for the Scotties.
Glasgow has picked up where it left off last year, losing only one game on the season so far.
Glasgow is scheduled to play Sidney this Thursday before hosting the Glasgow Invite on Friday and Saturday.
