But First Mariah Stein, Abby Mehling Look For Great Season With GHS
Mariah Stein and Abby Mehling have signed letters of intent to attend Dakota College at Bottineau and play softball for the Lady Jacks. Stein is a catcher-outfielder and Mehling is a pitcher-infielder. Both girls currently play for the Scotties.
Stein has been a standout for the past two years and has a chance to become one of Glasgow's all-time offensive players if she has a strong senior season.
"She is on track to set all our offensive records," coach Mark Falcon said. "She is also a very good catcher with a strong arm."
Stein was named Glasgow's offensive MVP following her sophomore and junior seasons. She was also named to the All-COnference team both years and added an All-State award following her junior campaign. She helped lead her squad to the Montana Class B State tournament both years.
As a junior, Mariah led her team in just about every category. She batted .429 with 35 RBIs, seven doubles, three triples and three home runs.
"As her stats show, Mariah is a solid player who put up some pretty impressive numbers over the past two years," said Lady Jacks head coach Mike Getzloff.
Abby Mehling will be following the footsteps of her sister Jess Mehling, who played for the Lady Jacks before transferring to Great Falls after two seasons at DC-Bottineau.
"Mehling will be called upon to add to our pitching depth as we graduate two of our three pitchers in the spring," said Getzloff.
