Pauline Myhre

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister Pauline (Riggin) Myhre, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at the Nemont Manor in Glasgow, Mont.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

She was born March 3, 1926, in Hinsdale, daughter of Guy and Minnie M. (Sorensen) Riggin. She was raised in Barr until the age of 5, when they moved to Hinsdale. She graduated with her sister, Mamie, from Hinsdale High School in 1945, then moved to Glasgow and worked in several stores. She started at Woolworths in 1960 and worked there for 25 years.

She married Don Girard in 1949 and they lived in Scobey. They had four children, Ron, Don, Russ and her baby girl, Shelly. They were later divorced, and she moved to Glasgow and raised her four children with the help of her mother, Minnie Riggin.

She married the love of her life, Lyle Myhre, in 1985, they were married 20 years. She and Lyle played cards, danced and traveled. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary #41. She bowled with her sisters for 20 years on the same Coca Cola team.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle, in 2005; one son, Ron, in 2012; four sisters, Isabel, Mae, Mamie and Caroline; and one brother, Bud Riggin.

Survivors include two sons, Don Girard and his wife, Pam, of Silver Lakes, Kan., and Russ Girard of Yakima, Wash .; one daughter, Shelly George, and her husband, Dave, of Glasgow; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Girard of Billings; one stepson, Gary Myhre, and his wife, Peggy, of Yakima, Wash .; one step-daughter, Ruth Myhre, of Glasgow; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Girard and his wife, Darci, of Portland, Ore., Heather Harrison and her husband, Brad, of Yakima, Tyler George and his wife, Kimberly, of Sheridan, Wyo., Ryan George and his wife, Erin, of Joliet, Chris George of Missoula, Jennifer Denton and her husband, Paul, of Boston, Mass., Jennifer Girard of Yakima, Scott Girard and his wife, Jennifer, of Kansas, City, Kan., and Bridget Girard of Billings; five great-grandchildren, Evie Girard, Emmet Girard, Bryce Harrison, Hayden Harrison and Owen George; one brother, Walter Riggin of Glasgow; and by numerous nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren.
