Injuries Off The Court Hinder Production
The Glasgow girls basketball team had retribution on their mind as they battled against Glendive once again on Jan. 30.
After playing a close game in their first meeting, one in which Scotties head coach Emilee Morehouse thought they should have won, the Scotties fell once again to Glendive 54-36.
Glasgow’s struggle on the offensive side of the ball continued as the Scotties only managed six points in the first quarter and 17 before half in which they trailed 33-17.
Morehouse acknowledged the struggles on offense and said it’s something the team has been battling all year, but that the struggles aren’t coming from the lack of opportunities, but instead the decisions made in those opportunities.
“We’re taking poor percentage shots,” Morehouse said. “That’s what’s getting us in trouble.”
To make matters worse, the Scotties are going through one of the worst injury spells a team can have at this point in the season.
Megan Rasmusan is currently out with an ankle sprain that could possibly be fractured. The Scotties also had standout freshman Khloe Krumwiede miss time with a fractured foot that the tenacious guard played through until the pain became unbearable and an Xray discovered the fracture.
Those highlight the plethora of injuries the team has suffered so far this season in which Morehouse is continually looking at JV players to fill her varsity roster.
The coach is playing with such a thin squad depth-wise that she would probably have to suit up if the team suffers another injury.
The Scotties travel to Harlem on Thursday before hosting Plentywood on Saturday as the regular season winds down with the final game on Feb. 15 at home against Poplar.
