Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Bernice Marie (Collins) Stohl, 94, died of natural causes on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at her home in Glasgow, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nashua, followed by interment in the Nashua Cemetery.
Her husband, Irven F. Stohl, preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1997. Bernice resided in Nashua many years with her parents, Paul Mitchell Collins, known by many as PM, and Emma Collins. She had one sister, Evone June "Higgs" Handley, and two brothers, Walter and Rayburn, also known as Scoop, who are all deceased.
She was married to Robert Calvin Mohler, who passed away in 2005. They had three children, Betty Lawyer of Riverside, Calif., Dianne Masters of Natoma, Kan., and Robert Mohler of Kyle, Texas.
She married Rhynold S. Pruter April 12, 1947, and they had one daughter, Penelope Sue Pruter, who passed away May 10, 2006.
She worked as a beauty operator much of her life and moved to Natoma with Rhynold to a farm where he built her a shop in their home so she could continue doing hair. Rhynold died in an accident at their home Dec. 4, 1965.
She was a grandmother to 13 children and a great-grandmother to 22 children and had at least 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She loved the farm north of Nashua and was able to stay there with all the help she received from Lori and Philip Collins and Jane and Wayne Collins. We have so much to be thankful to them for her care.
In the spring of 2012, she was forced to move to Glasgow because of flooding at the farm.
Bell Mortuary of Glasgow is in charge of arrangements.
