Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The U19 Ice Dawgs are on a roll.
Glasgow secured its third consecutive win Sunday as they beat Watford City 1-0 at the Valley Event Center.
The Ice Dawgs were once again led by the offensive tandem of Carley Wesley and MaKenzie Wesen. Wesen found Wesley in the third period for the game’s only goal in what proved to be a hard fought match throughout on both sides.
Minutes after Glasgow found the back of the net, Watford City thought they tied the game at one, but a blown whistle by a referee signaling that the net had become detached from the crease voided the tying goal as Glasgow still held the slim 1-0 lead. Watford City had a couple of more opportunities before the final horn sounded, but Glasgow’s defense proved to be up for the challenge and turned away any hopes of a tie.
The Ice Dawgs are now 7-3 on the season and play again in Bismarck on Dec. 28-29. The next home game for Glasgow is on Jan. 4 when they host Crosby at 4 p.m.
