Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The Glasgow girls basketball team fell to Roundup in the opening game of the season 58-49.
This was the first time these two schools have met and even after a defeat, Scotties head coach Emilee Morehouse is already preparing for the next opponent.
“It was a nonconference game so we just have to stay positive,” said Morehouse.
Glasgow found itself up by one entering the fourth quarter, but in that quarter, Roundup outscored the Scotties 19-9 to secure the win.
“They played hard the whole game” said Morehouse. “They pressed hard the whole time and never gave up.”
Looking to notch their first win in the short season, the Scotties won’t stray from their usual game plan.
“We’re not going to do anything special,” Morehouse said. “We just want to see how we match up against them and get some games under our belt.”
As the team keeps practicing and the games keep coming, Morehouse thinks that Glasgow will start playing basketball the way they’re used to.
“Most of our girls have never played in a varsity game so we just have to get used to it,” said Morehouse.
Leading the way for Glasgow was Lexis Synan with 14 points. Glasgow’s next game will be at home against Baker on Friday night.
