Sister Christopher (Mary) Weber, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at Talahi Senior Campus in St. Cloud, Minn.
She was born and raised in Nashua and Glasgow. She attended South Side Grammar Public Grade School and Glasgow Public High School. In 1948, she entered Saint Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph, Minn., making perpetual monastic profession as a Benedictine sister July 11, 1953.
Sister Christopher served in both elementary and secondary education in Minnesota. In 1972, she went to Manchester, N.H., where she served until 2008 at St. Anselm's College as a professor of education, chair of the educational department and assistant chaplain and counselor. She also served on the New Hampshire State Board of Education and as President of the Council for Religious Sisters of the State of New Hampshire.
S. Christopher is survived by her Benedictine community, sister Marilyn Mangnall, and nieces and nephews.
Memorial gifts should be directed to Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict Retirement Fund.
Funeral services were held Nov. 25. A reception of the Body was held at Saint Scholastica Convent in St. Cloud, followed by visitation until 6 p.m. A prayer vigil service was held at 7 p.m. at Saint Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph. A visitation was held Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. at Saint Benedict's Monastery. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 3:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel in Saint Benedict's Monastery.
