City Judge Riggin To Resign Jan. 1

At its regular meeting on Nov. 4, the Glasgow City Council accepted the resignation of Judge Dave Riggin, effective Jan. 1.

Riggin was appointed city judge in April 2007. According to City Clerk Stacy Amundson, the judge said he was “just ready to retire.”

The Personnel Committee will meet on Thursday to discuss finding a successor to Riggin.

In other business, the council pre-approved the hiring of temporary employees if they are needed for snow removal. In 2011 there was a lot of snow to be moved, but last year the city didn’t need any extra employees.

Three city boards still have one vacancy each, the Glasgow Refuse Board, the Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustments. The City Council will accept written applications until Nov. 26. For more information, call Amundson at 228-2476. Appointments will be made at the regular council meeting on Dec. 2.
