Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Gonzaga Women’s Rowing made the cut to participate in the prestigious 49th annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston this past weekend and Glasgow’s own Devyn Bell was there.
The Zags came in eighth and were up against 20 top teams from around the country, including two Olympic National Teams.
Bell is a 2012 graduate of Glasgow High School and has been rowing for Gonzaga this past year, working her way up to a varsity spot and was one of only five young women invited to Boston. Their boat had four rowers and a coxswain, though Devyn usually rows in the Varsity 8.
Last May, the Zags made it to the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis for the first time in their history, coming in 19th in the nation. Their fall season began in September in Idaho, and they have regattas in Spokane and Seattle yet this fall.
