Frank Albert Hopwood

Frank Albert Hopwood, born on June 27, 1931, at home in Hinsdale to Rose and Fern Hopwood, died on Sept. 29, 2013, at age 82, at Valley View Nursing Home.

A vigil service will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow and funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Glasgow. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

He grew up working with his parents at Hopwood Electric in Hinsdale before moving to Glasgow in the late 1950s and continued to use his electrical expertise in St. Marie wiring houses, runways and also Power House #2 at Fort Peck Dam. He went to work for the City of Glasgow in 1964 in the water and sewer plant. During his 10 years of reading water meters, he got to know the local community and loved lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

After retiring from the City with 25 years of employment, he enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family. His sense of humor, smile and infectious laugh are just a few of the things that made him so memorable. Even with his hearing loss he loved to chat and joke with everyone while keeping the waitresses and CNAs on their toes.

He is preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Joni; and his sister, June.

Survivors include his loving wife, Robyn; three daughters, Janet Fisher of Seattle, Wash., Janeen Eckert of Helena, and Julie Kump of Taylorsville, Utah; one son, Dale Hopwood of Denver, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Art Hopwood.
