Here's A Juicy Question For You

At some time I asked about canning jars with a smaller opening than the present day regular canning jars. Does anyone remember what type of food preservation these were used for? Juice is the only thing that comes to my mind.

Growing up with parents and grandparents that survived the Depression days, it was normal to save everything as it might be needed at some time.

In that era no one had TV to actually know about hoarders and, yes, there is a difference between saving and hoarding. In my saved treasures I found lids that fit those small jars.

Does anyone remember No. 63 Thrif-T-Lids? They came in a box similar to our present Kerr & Ball jar lids. The homemaker no longer needed to not worry about rubber rings.

The box says that I can use them for open kettle, hot water bath or pressure canning. They are economical, easy to use and open. Now I only need to know what to put into those jars!
