Johnson, Keller Win Hell Creek Tournament

Walleye Meet Across The Lake Draws 36 Teams

A total of 44.57 pounds was good for first place this past weekend in the Hell Creek Walleye Tournament at Hell Creek Marina on Fort Peck Lake.

Forming the winning team were Kris Keller of Wolf Point and MontanaOutdoor.com contributor Trevor Johnson of Kit’s Tackle in Helena.

Rounding out the top five teams were Chad Phipps and Cal Phipps in second with 37.02 pounds, Kristofer Mier and Dewey Vogl in third with 36.08, John and Jason Madson in fourth with 35.8, and Ron McNary and Jerome Papineau in firth with 34.34.

Bill and Bridger Dasinger caught the largest walleye, a 13.25-pounder measuring 32 inches.

The largest northern pike was 42.5 inches.

Thirty-six teams competed in this year’s tournament near Jordon.
