Polish up your boots, strap on your spurs, dust off your cowboy hat and come to Hinsdale for the annual Milk River Days celebration and 34th annual Milk River Cowboy Association Rodeo.
Action starts Wednesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. with the fast draw competition. Call Brian at 364-2227 or Steve at 527-3398 for info.
Then the MRCA Rodeo begins with barrel racing slack at 3 p.m., followed by team roping slack. The performance starts at 6:30 p.m. There will be added money in all adult events. Contact Dick Marshall for entry information.
The street dance on Main Street starts at 9 p.m. in front of Stoughies with Rock Hard Country jammin’ the tunes. The American Legion will provide a pancake breakfast beginning at 11 p.m.
Milk River Days also sponsors a parade beginning at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three places.
There will be activities all day with a horseshoe tournament, street bowling, kids games in the park, a pie auction, a barbecue lunch in the park, pie and coffee served by the Methodist women, and an arts and crafts show at the Legion Hall.
Added this year is the 3-point basketball shoot and 3-on-3 basketball (contact Sheri Idler at 263-2340).
All this will be followed by a traditionally stunning fireworks display at Hillman Field at or near dusk.
