The Opheim Little League Twins played their first home game last Tuesday against the Scobey White Sox. The Twins lost 9-1. Adler Morgan pitched four innings for the Twins and Haylee Fauth pitched two. Thomas Fry scored the Twins only run on a double and two errors on the White Sox. Their game on Monday, June 3, was postponed due to the rain. They play in Scobey on Tuesday, June 11, and the next scheduled home game is on Thursday, June 13, against the Scobey Red Sox.
CJ Nelson is playing on the Scobey Giants Babe Ruth Baseball team. They won their first game of the season on Friday, May 24, against Sheridan Dental of Plentywood. The score was 13-6. CJ pitched six innings with four hits, six runs (one earned), 11 strikeouts and six walks. Preston Baldry pitched the seventh inning. Nelson hit 1-for-3 with a sacrifice.
In the second game of the double header, the Sheridan County boys edged the Giants 9-8. Nelson hit 2-for-2 with a double.
On Wednesday, May 29, Tia Hallock participated in the Hershey track and field meet in Havre. She took first in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 14.37 seconds and first in the 200 with a time of 31.22. She also was first in the softball throw.
She has now qualified in all three events for the state Hershey track and field meet that will be held in Colstrip on June 15.
