Tamrah Pewitt and Makkell Baillargeon will make their Scottie golf debuts at the state tournament this season.
The pair will be the only representatives for the Scotties after Pewitt took 11th and Baillargeon was 14th at the Northern B Divisional in Malta on Saturday. Pewitt shot a 118 and Baillargeon shot a 120, both below their season averages.
Pewitt came in to the day with a 131 average on the season, including a 126 in Malta on May 4. Baillargeon was sitting at a 123 average coming into the day and played to that average at the same meet in Malta on May 4.
The State B Tournament will be in Bigfork this season on May 20-22. The Eagle Bend Golf Club will host the three-day tournament.
The divisional tournament marked the end of the season for the boys’ team, who had state aspirations going into the day.
Boyd Sinclair, Jared Smith, Wyatt Holzworth, Braden Barstad and Luke Gunderson ended the day with a 396 as a team, 23 strokes behind fourth-place Plentywood, who took the final team slot for the state tournament. If the Scotties duplicated their performance from the Malta Invite on May 4, a 365, they would have made the field.
Boyd Sinclair was the lone senior.
Taylor Nixdorf also competed in Malta on Saturday but was unable to place in the top 15 individuals on the girls’ side to make it to state.
