    The Glasgow-Hinsdale-Nashua Scottie softball team went 1-2 in their first week of the 2022 season, dropping their home opener to Havre 16-12 last Thursday before splitting two conference games at the Huntley triangular. The Scotties defeated Huntley Project 26-9 in their first game April 1 before losing 13-3 to Stillwater Christian.     Jasiah Hambira led his Lustre Christian boys track team to a 5th place finish at the Glasgow Invitational Track Meet April 1. The Lions junior won the 400 meter dash, high jump and triple jump, while placing 2nd in the 200 meter dash. Elijah Lenihan also earned points for the Lions with a 4th place in the high jump.     Wow! Great job Highlanders. We tied a club record by bringing 53 kids to the big dance: the Montana Open at the Metra this weekend. Just as they've done all season long, our guys and gals did not disappoint. We came away with a club record five champions and another club record 24 top six place winners.     It was a monumental weekend for the Glasgow Wrestling Club. After coming up just a half point short of the Large Team Girls State Championship in 2021, the Highlander Girls came out with intensity and won the 2022 Large Team AAU State Championship. This year's girls tournament featured 54 youth wrestling clubs and 302 total Girls. GWC also swept the "10-man Championship" in the girls tournament winning the Inaugural Walt Egged Award.     The North Country girls basketball team put on a show at the State tournament in Great Falls this weekend – outscoring their opponents by 97 points over four games – 252-155 – as they rolled over three teams on their way to claim third place. And the Scottie squad made the most of their trip to Bozeman, putting up a 2-2 record at the big dance for a fourth-place finish.     Glasgow's Bantam Ice Dawgs claimed second at the Montana Amateur Hockey Association State A Tournament in Butte this past weekend.     The stretch run is upon us! With only three weekends remaining, the Highlanders split up this past weekend at the “Border Brawl” in Plentywood and at the Montana Middle School State Wrestling Championships in Lewistown. It was another banner weekend for our GWC kids of all ages. In Plentywood, we entered an event-best 35 wrestlers. The small inter-divisional meet featured 167 kids from eight local clubs.     Glasgow’s Bantam Ice Dawgs traded 5-3 final scores with the Williston Coyotes in a pair of games on Sunday at the Valley Event Center with the visitors taking the first game.
