Scottie Wrestling is back in action this week. The boys and girls team will attend the Wolf Point Mixer Thursday, Dec. 8, for a 5 p.m. start. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, the Glasgow gymnasium will be a flurry of grappling action as the Scotties host the 27th Annual Scottie Invitational. The Glasgow boys basketball team made their 2022-23 regular season debut Dec. 2 in Wolf Point. The Scotties fell to the Wolves 76-54. Wolf Point held a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter. They increased their lead to 14 points at the half, 45-31. After three quarters, Glasgow was behind by a 19-point margin, 62-43. Keigan Ingram led the Scotties in scoring with 19 points. Glasgow’s girls basketball team opened their 2022-23 season with a road loss against Wolf Point. The Scotties fell to the Wolves 43-13. Wolf Point led 8-5 at the end of the first and outscored Glasgow 12-8 in the second quarter. Glasgow outscored Wolf Point by 1 in the third, giving Wolf Point a 30-24 lead heading into the final eight minutes of play. Frazer’s boys basketball team opened their 2022-23 season at the Lockwood Tip Off Tournament in Billings. The Bearcubs dropped both games, losing 61-16 to Park City Friday before falling 62-35 to Bridger Saturday. Park City racked up 22 points in the first quarter while shutting Frazer out. The Bearcubs found some offense in the second but still trailed 38-7 at the half. Frazer’s girls basketball team kicked off the 2022-23 season with an exciting pair of games at the Lockwood Tip Off Tournament in Billings this past weekend. The Bearcubs won their first game against Park City after a fourth quarter rally, 40-33, on Friday. Saturday they took Bridger to overtime but lost 43-38. The Milk River basketball team was set to attend the Special Olympics Montana State basketball Tournament in Butte Nov. 10-12 but winter hit the state and disrupted Glasgow's travel plans. Rather than travel across the state in treacherous conditions for the 89-team tournament, the hoopsters of Milk River made the shorter trek to Sidney for a friendly game against the Eagles. The High School Ice Dawgs returned to the rink for the first time this season at home with two games against the Salmon (Idaho) Rapids. The Dawgs dammed the Rapids in both games: 10-3 Friday night followed by a 10-0 shutout Saturday morning. Glasgow's 2022 season came to an end in two games at the All-Class State Volleyball Tournament in Bozeman this past weekend. The trip was the second consecutive one for the Scotties and their third appearance at State in four years. The Scotties faced the defending and eventual repeat state champions, the Huntley Project Red Devils, in their opening match at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at Montana State University. Glasgow was the only Class B athletic program in the state to put all four of their teams - Girls Cross Country, Boys Cross Country, Football and Volleyball - into the final eight in this year's postseason. The girls cross country team finished fourth at state while the boys cross country team places seventh. The Bantam Ice Dawgs started the 2022-23 season with a tournament in Sidney this past weekend. The Dawgs posted a 1-2-1 record in their season debut and brought home third place. Glasgow fell to Watford City by an 8-3 margin in game one Friday evening. Their game against Richland Saturday morning ended in a 6-6 draw.
