    For the Courier From Jan. 17 What a start to the 2023 Glasgow Wrestling Club season! Our Highlanders scored 191.5 points to win the Medium Team Title at the Miles City Invitational on Sunday. The event featured wrestlers from 17 different clubs. We were the fifth-largest team at the event. We sent 44 grapplers and at the end of the day, GWC had crowned 10 Individual Champions and 28 top-three finishers. The coaches are very happy with our progress in just three practices.     From Jan. 22 The Highlanders split up this weekend and experienced a lot of success at both events. Forty-six wrestlers stayed close to home and competed at the Wolf Point Invitational, while 21 veterans attended the Wild West Championship in Casper, Wyoming. The Wolf Point Invitational featured 337 kids from 11 different clubs. The Highlanders won 67% of their individual matches on the day and crowned 10 individual champions.     Glasgow Girls Pick Up First Win In Harlem The Scottie girls basketball team picked up their first win of the season with a 49-38 road win over Harlem Jan. 13. Glasgow fell in a tight down-to-the-wire game against Poplar at home the following night. The 51-49 loss gave the Scotties a 1-3, 1-9 overall, record.     The North Country girls basketball team, ranked the top Class C girls team in the state, improved to 11-0 overall, 5-0 in conference play, with wins over Lustre Christian and Frazer this past week. The Mavericks took a 56-14 win off the Lions Jan. 13 in Saco before taking a 77-11 road win over the Bearcubs the following night. North Country took a 19-1 lead over Lustre in the first quarter and outscored the visitors 14-3 in the second quarter. Glasgow defeated the Fusion 7-1 Friday night and 5-4 Saturday morning in an overtime thriller.
