The Glasgow Middle School cross country teams hit the Wolf Point Invitational Aug. 25 for their first meet of the 2023 season. The Scottie boys won the event with a team score of 32. Glasgow played Wolf Point and Malta in the season opener jamboree in Glasgow Aug. 26. Scores were not kept but the Scottie teams put up points in their match-ups. Fish, Wildlife & Parks fisheries staff recently investigated a report of a fish kill on the Redwater River east of Vida. According to the concerned landowner, “many fish of all sizes and species” were observed at Redwater Crossing and continued upstream approximately one mile. "I am very proud of how everyone swam. We had some amazing time drops," said GKST Head Coach Ethan Shrader of his Thunder's performance at the State Swim Meet in Conrad. GKST took the hardware as the Class C State Champions, despite not having a pool in Glasgow this season. The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team has come through this season despite a significant setback: the closure of the Glasgow Pool. A popular Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 6 program that allows kids and their friends or families to check out free fishing rods and tackle is in full swing again this year.
