    Glasgow took a win in their conference and lost a non-conference match-up on the volleyball court this past week. The Scotties defeated the Poplar Indians in three sets Sept. 15 before dropping a hard fought battle in four sets to the Class A Sidney Eagles the following day. At home Friday, the Scotties swept the Indians 25-18, 25-8, 25-15. Glasgow had 15 aces, 25 kills, 19 assists, six blocks and 18 digs in the win. Tatum Nyquist had four aces to lead Glasgow.     The Scottie girls cross country team placed seventh at the Fergus Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet in Lewistown Sept. 15, led by Tanae Baker. Baker won the girls race with a time of 19:57.42. She and her teammates put up 167 points for their placing. The Glasgow boys took ninth with 229 points, paced by Kyler Holinde.     Glasgow's struggles on the gridiron continued this past week with a road loss to Manhattan Christian but the game did highlight some improvement for the Scotties. Manhattan won 38-14 but the Scotties staved off another shutout with touchdowns from Khye Gamas and Kade Strommen.     The Mavericks improved their volleyball record with road wins over Froid/Lake and Nashua this past week. North Country defeated the Redhawks in three sets Sept. 15 and downed the Porcupines in three the following day. The Mavericks won their match 25-17, 25-13, 25-10 in Froid.     The Raiders hit two cross country meets this past week: the Circle Invitational Sept. 12 and the Fergus Invite Sept. 15. Zora Holt placed fourth out of 29 harriers in Circle, with a time of 23:50.72. She ran a 24:16.00 in Lewistown to take 41st place out of 84 runners.     Jarvis Goodbird led the Frazer boys cross country team to a second place finish at the Circle Invite with an individual first place showing.
